Contemplate Life...

In the hustle and bustle of everyday life,
Take the time,
Every once and a while, to...
Stop. Breathe. And Contemplate Life.
Instead of pushing, trying, thinking, analyzing, stressing, planning, 'strategizing', reviewing, and demanding...
Take a break.
Stop.
Step away.
Breathe.
Let go.
And Contemplate Life.
Contemplation brings a different energy that opens the door for New Perspectives, New Awareness, and New Ideas.
Give it a try.
Just for today.
Contemplate Life.

Relax.
Let Go.
Let it Flow.

Its time to 'up the ante' and put more Trust
in the Workings of the Universe
(with all her Magic, Marvel, and Majesty)
to take care of us and the details of our lives.

Relax.
Let Go.
Let It Flow.

Let this be your mantra for your day
and for the upcoming weekend.

All is well.
And we are in good hands.

Trust that it is so...

Imagine...

PictureImagine...
Imagine.
What a powerful word!
Such a magical word!
What can you imagine today?
Can you imagine the seemingly impossible?
It takes energy to imagine.
Or does it?
Start small.
Start with something easy.
But start.
To imagine.
Anything.
To build the imagination muscle, use it.
Right now...
Imagine a clean kitchen.
Imagine all the wash being done.
Imagine the hardest, most aggravating task you have to do...
being ALREADY DONE!

For me, that task is putting my Christmas decorations away in the attic.
Yes, the tree is down and out of the house, the decorations are off the walls, and the side tables are free and clear of "all things red."
Yes, even the dining room table which housed the sparkly round and pointed objects for several weeks is x-mas-free and finally showing its wooden self.
Yes, all of the Christmas decorations are nicely organized in clear plastic bins with red lids and are sitting next to the fire place ready to be carried up to the attic.
Bless my husband.
He was going to put it all away while I was out of town two weeks ago.  But that would have ended in murder.  So, I thanked him for his thoughtfulness, and strongly suggested that he NOT touch the Christmas stuff!!!
(Letting go of control is an issue that I am well aware of and working on, HOWEVER, I was not willing to work on it WHILE I WAS OUT OF TOWN!)
Lol.
And so, there it sits.
Until now.
Now, in my imagination, I see myself (in very fast-forward-type motion) carry the bins up 2 flights of stairs, into the attic, neatly piling them on crates-with-wheels, and pushing them under the eaves of the roof to the back of the house where they will be safe until next Christmas.  Oh, and since we put up our decorations right after Thanksgiving, that gives us 9 months (give-or-take a few days) until we get them back out again!!!
So.  Now.  Task is complete.  In my imagination.
Does it count?  Maybe not in this 3-D world, but in the land of energy and imagination, IT SURELY COUNTS!
It counts BIG TIME!
It counts because IT GOT ME UNSTUCK.
It counts because I can now FEEL THE DESIRE to take physical action.
And it counts because AS SOON AS I POST THIS, I'M DOING IT!
Today, experiment with imagining.
Imagine imagining your whole life being exactly the way you dream it to be.
Practice imaging every day.
And see what happens!
Have an imagine-filled, amazing day!

Begin Again.

We all do it. We all fall short of our own ideals.
We eat junk food.
We skip exercising.
We quit something we started.
Whenever we find ourselves not living up to our own expectations, the BEST we can do for ourselves is look for the GOOD things we HAVE DONE. Instead of focusing on what we didn't do, we celebrate what we did do!

For example, last week I traveled for business. Saturday I helped my sister move. Sunday I was exhausted, and today my son has off from school. I have been out of my routine and I missed 6 days of my newly formed Habit of working on my Children's Storybook! But instead of berating myself for "messing up," I'm trying to focus on what I did do: I worked, I visited with old friends, I helped out my sister, I rested, and today I am spending the day with my son!

By focusing on the good things we have done for ourselves, we have more energy and positive momentum to BEGIN AGAIN. And the great news is that we can begin again any moment of any day. It doesn't matter how many days we have missed or how far away we are from our ideal. It only matters that we begin again. And begin again we will.

Resistance?  Get Curious.

I'm imagining that at some point along your life journey you've experienced some kind of internal resistance; resistance to taking care of yourself, resistance to starting a new habit, resistance to going for a dream.

I know I have.

If you have, how did you react?  Did you judge yourself for having resistance?  Did you interpret the resistance as a sign to stop doing what you were doing? Did you take a day or two off and wait for the resistance to go away? Did you feel the resistance and move forward anyway?

There's no right or wrong and certainly no judgement.  Our resistance may have a lot to tell us if we get curious enough and listen.

It may be a message for much needed rest.  Or, it may be part of a larger pattern that has stopped us in many areas of our lives.

Resistance can be a great teacher.  Next time you experience resistance, get curious.  And let us know what you learn!

Practice Extreme Self Care

Today, start a New Habit and let it be a form of Self Care...a form of Prayer.

Do it with as much presence, attention and intention as you can.

Be patient.

Slow down.

And give yourself lots of permission.

Be kind to yourself.

Practice being your own best friend.

See how it feels.

And if you like it, do it again tomorrow.

❤
