In video #1 of the Self-Love Video series, I share some pretty raw experiences that I had with self-hate. And I talk about a time when I fully realized that Self-Love was an inside job.
"I realized that there is no one else who could give me self-love. No one else could do it for me."
It took me being okay with where I was.
"Just let me hate myself."
"Let me be me and accept me for not liking myself in this moment."
"In this moment I don't like myself and it's okay."
That was years ago.
But I remember it as clearly as if it happened yesterday.
It was a moment in time when I stood up for myself and declared that others trying to help me feel better about myself was actually hurting me...and it was my job to make myself feel better.
I spoke up for myself that day and I was transformed. Looking back I can say I was empowered.
The journey of self-love is an inner journey.
Self-love is not found outside.
It is an inside job.

(p.p.s. Men, I am not excluding you. I sense that your experiences of self-war and self-hate are of a different nature. But I don't know that for sure and I can't. However, they are just as valid. And it's just as important that they end. However, I may not be the best person to support you in that. Then again, who knows...in the future, I might give it a try. Thank you for your patience while I focus on women. You can still stay connected here and in the process maybe gain more understanding of the women in your life. And, if it feels right, share these posts with them!
